Earthslip Claims Two Lives, One Still Missing

COLOMBO (News 1st); An earthslip struck the Aluthnuwara area of Mawanella early this morning, claiming the lives of two individuals and leaving one more still missing beneath the debris.

The incident occurred near a residential site where three workers were engaged in construction activities. 

Without warning, a large mass of earth collapsed, burying the men under tons of soil.

Police and local residents immediately launched a rescue operation, successfully recovering the bodies of two victims.

Efforts are ongoing to locate the third individual.
