Live Grenade Found Buried on Private Land in Tangalle

COLOMBO (News 1st); A live hand grenade was discovered buried on a private property in Netolpitiya, Tangalle, prompting immediate police intervention. 

The explosive was found by a man digging holes to install fence posts on land owned by a woman.

According to police, the grenade was concealed inside a polythene bag and unearthed during routine land work.

Officers from the Special Task Force (STF) are scheduled to inspect and safely handle the device today.
