Acting Public Security Minister & IGP Appointed

COLOMBO (News 1st); Deputy Minister Sunil Watagala has been appointed to oversee duties related to the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, while Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Lalith Pathinayake has been entrusted with responsibilities pertaining to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) role.

These appointments were made as both the Public Security Minister and the Police Chief travelled overseas to attend the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Defence, retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuiyakontha, has also departed for China to participate in the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Security Forum.
