New Safety Rules for School Transport Vehicles

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, has announced plans to implement a new set of guidelines and regulations for vehicles transporting schoolchildren, aimed at enhancing safety and accountability.

State Minister of Education, Dr. Madura Senewiratne, stated that a special joint programme is being launched to ensure the safe and secure transportation of students across the country. 

The initiative comes in response to growing concerns over the condition and conduct of school transport services.
