Health Ministry Halts Staff Leave to Maintain Services

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Health and Media has announced a temporary suspension of all foreign and local leave approvals for its staff, citing difficulties in maintaining uninterrupted essential services.

The decision was communicated through an official circular issued by Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry.

According to the circular, the nature of the ministry’s operations requires continuous service delivery, which has been compromised due to frequent staff leave.

In addition to the leave suspension, the circular also notes that recruitment for vacant positions within the ministry has been restricted.
