Police Seize T-56 and 9mm Rounds from Mailbox

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police discovered 47 rounds of T-56 ammunition and 6 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition inside a mailbox at a housing complex in Mattegoda on Wednesday (8) morning.

According to police, the discovery was made following a tip-off from the property owner, who currently resides elsewhere. 

The owner had visited the house earlier today and noticed the mailbox secured with a padlock. Upon opening it with the assistance of neighbors, the ammunition was found.
