Police Chief Meets Mahanayake Theros

COLOMBO (News 1st): The new Inspector General of Police, Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasooriya, visited the The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic this morning to receive blessings.

He later met the Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero, the Mahanayake of the Malwathu Chapter of the Siam Sect.

The Inspector General also met the Anunayake of the Malwathu Chapter, Venerable Dimbulkumbure Wimaladhamma Thero, and received blessings. 

The Anunayake noted that the Inspector General’s expertise and experience would be instrumental in curbing criminal activities.

The Inspector General then visited the Mahanayake of the Asgiri Chapter, Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero, and later met the Deputy Registrar, Venerable Dagampanawawe Ananda Thero.
