Ten Arrested in Gampaha Raid with Guns, Ammo, and Meth

COLOMBO (News 1st); Ten individuals suspected to be members of an organized criminal gang were arrested in Ganemulla during a police raid, authorities confirmed today (19).

According to police, the suspects were found in possession of a repeater-type firearm, a pistol, nine T-56 magazines, 183 rounds of ammunition, 280 rounds of 9mm bullets, a sword, and 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ICE). 

A motorcycle and a car used by the suspects were also seized.

The arrests were made during coordinated operations in Parakandeniya, Daluwa Kottuwa, and Katana, with police confirming that one of the suspects is a former military personnel.

The group includes residents from Rajagiriya, Wanathamulla, Athurugiriya, and Katana.
