Galu Kumari Derailment Disrupts Train Services On Coastal Route

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Railways announced that train services on the coastal line have been further restricted.

The disruption is due to ongoing clearance work on the Galu Kumari train, which derailed near the Gintota railway station last afternoon.

Accordingly, trains operating from Colombo to Galle will run only up to Boossa or Hikkaduwa stations, while trains from Beliatta will terminate at Galle.

Sri Lanka Railways added that it will take several more hours to fully restore the railway line.
