Over 129,000 Arrested in Nationwide Anti-Drug Operation

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs says that 129,862 individuals have been arrested so far across the island, during a special nationwide police operation on drug-related charges.

According to the ministry, the arrests include 39,627 suspects connected to heroin, 47,615 linked to crystal methamphetamine (ICE), and 42,620 related to cannabis.

During these operations, authorities have seized 934.55 kg of heroin, 1,402.976 kg of ICE, and 11,620.068 kg of cannabis.
