Colombo(News 1st); Police say investigations are ongoing to identify the ownership of the body of an infant found in a train compartment in Dematagoda.

The body was found inside a bag that had a QR code linked to an Arab country, according to police.

As a result, police have requested information from relevant departments regarding people who entered the country through the port and airport on that day.

Investigations are also being carried out using CCTV footage from all railway stations between Puttalam and Colombo Fort.

The baby's body was recently discovered by cleaning workers in the toilet of a train traveling from Puttalam to Colombo, which was stationed at the Dematagoda railway yard.

The body is currently being kept at the police morgue.
