CIABOC Warns Fines For Late Asset Declarations

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), has announced that fines will be imposed on officers who have failed to submit their asset and liability declarations.

In a statement, the commission noted that the deadline for submissions, which ended on June 30, has been extended until the 31st.

However, it emphasized that fines will still apply to declarations submitted after the original deadline, in accordance with the Act.

The commission urged officers who have yet to comply to submit their declarations to their respective heads of institutions immediately, in order to minimize any administrative penalties.

It further warned that legal action will be taken against officers who fail to submit their asset and liability declarations.
