Dehiwala Shooting Suspect Killed in Kahathuduwa Shootout

Colombo(News 1st); The suspect involved in the recent shooting near the Dehiwala railway station, which left one person injured, has been killed in a shootout with the Police Special Task Force (STF) in Kahathuduwa.

According to police, STF officers carried out a search operation at a house in the Kahathuduwa area around 4:30 a.m. today, where the suspect was believed to be hiding.

During the raid, the suspect attempted to open fire at the officers, prompting a gunfight. He was shot and killed in the exchange.

The suspect’s body has been placed at the Piliyandala Wetara Hospital.

One STF officer sustained injuries during the shootout and is currently receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Hospital.
