Woman Killed, Child Injured in Marawila Shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st); A shooting in Maranda, Marawila has claimed the life of a woman and left a child injured.

According to police reports, the shooting occurred last night when two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire.

The victim has been identified as a 30-year-old woman, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

A 10-year-old child also sustained injuries during the shooting and is currently receiving treatment at the Marawila Hospital.
