COLOMBO (News 1st): Employees representing 28 trade unions within the Ceylon Electricity Board have decided to report sick leave today as part of a collective protest.
According to Kosala Abeysinghe, President of the CEB Technical Engineers' Union, the decision was made to demand a collective agreement that ensures the protection of employee benefits and privileges.
The trade unions stress that the protest action is a response to concerns over the future security and rights of CEB workers, and they are calling for formal negotiations to address their demands.
