COLOMBO (News 1st); Three separate police teams have launched investigations into a shooting incident that occurred at a two-storey residence located in the Ganemulla.
Initial inquiries have revealed that the homeowner, who is currently employed as a visa officer in Dubai, may have been targeted due to a dispute with organized criminal groups over visa arrangements. Police suspect that the shooting was a retaliatory act stemming from this disagreement.
The incident, which took place on the night of July 11, resulted in damage to the upper-floor windows and the iron security fence of the house. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Authorities confirmed that investigations commenced following a formal complaint received yesterday. The police are continuing to gather evidence and pursue leads to identify the individuals responsible.
