Constitutional Council Approves Appointment of Two New Court of Appeal Justices

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Constitutional Council has granted approval for the appointment of two new Justices to the Court of Appeal.

Accordingly, Colombo High Court Judge Adithya Patabendi and Civil Appellate High Court Judge Frank Gunawardena have received the Council’s approval to be appointed as Justices of the Court of Appeal.

These nominations were submitted by President Anura Kumara Disanayake, based on the recommendation of Chief Justice Murdu Fernando. 

The Constitutional Council, chaired by Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne, granted its approval for the new appointment, at a recent meeting.
