COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is currently on an official visit to Germany, is scheduled to meet several more German ministers today.
Yesterday, President Dissanayake met with German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Johann Wadephul in Berlin.
The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, the digital economy, investment, and vocational training, based on the priorities of both governments.
Earlier, President Dissanayake also met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
During this meeting, the two leaders held lengthy discussions on strengthening economic and international relations between the two countries.
According to the President’s Media Division, special attention was given to enhancing cooperation in vocational training and the tourism industry.
President Dissanayake left for Germany the night before last on a three-day official visit, following an invitation extended by the German President.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath and a delegation of senior government officials are accompanying the President on this visit.
