NEC to Gazette Additional Member List for LG Elections

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Election Commission says that the list of additional members for the recently held 2025 local government elections will be forwarded to the Government Printing Office for official publication in the Gazette.

According to Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake, the deadline for political parties and independent groups to submit their additional member nominations concluded at midnight yesterday.

He also stated that the relevant political parties have Submitted Nominations for the positions of Chairman, Mayor, and Deputy Mayor in 161 local government institutions.

The 2025 local government elections were held on 6th of May.
