Repairs Begin on Flood-Affected Areas in Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has identified nearly 20 locations within the Colombo city limits that are prone to flooding due to the prevailing rain conditions.

Among the main areas affected are Maradana, Armour Street, and Deans Road.

The CMC stated that unauthorized constructions along drainage systems that discharge rainwater have been the primary cause of the flooding.

Repairs at the identified locations have already commenced.
