Expert Team Investigates Kotmale Bus Accident

COLOMBO (News 1st); A team of specialists from the Motor Traffic Department has conducted a thorough examination of the bus that overturned into a ravine in Kotmale, during the weekend.

This investigation was initiated following a request from the committee appointed by the Acting Inspector General of Police to probe the accident.

Three experts from the Motor Traffic Department participated in the inspection.

Additionally, the Government Analyst examined the bus involved in the tragic incident yesterday.

The police reported that the five-member committee appointed to investigate the accident visited the site and commenced their inquiry the day before yesterday.

The accident, which occurred in the Garadiella area of Kotmale on the Gampola main road, resulted in the loss of 23 lives when the bus plunged into a ravine.
