47 Still Receiving Treatment After Fatal Kotmale Bus Crash

COLOMBO (News 1st) – Police say 47 people are still receiving treatment in hospital following the tragic bus accident in Garandi Ella, Kotmale, which occurred yesterday morning.

Seven others have been discharged after receiving treatment.

The accident claimed 22 lives when a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus operating on its regular route from Kataragama to Kurunegala via Nuwara Eliya, veered off the road and plunged into a precipice.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
