Vehicle imports will be permitted from next year - President

COLOMBO (News1st); President Ranil Wickremesinghe has announced that vehicle imports will be gradually allowed from next year.

The decision, according to the President, aims to bolster government revenue through customs duties. 

He emphasized the need for increased income to support the country's foreign reserves, stating, "I believe our reserves have grown sufficiently to permit vehicle imports, as customs duties on vehicles are a significant revenue source for the government."
