Eheliyagoda Records Over 400mm Of Rainfall In 24 Hours

Colombo (News 1st): Sri Lanka's Met Department said that Eheliyagoda recorded the highest rainfall as of 7 am. on Sunday (2) with the figure standing at 427.5 mm.

The Halwathura Estate in Ingiriya recorded 348.5 mm of rain during the same period.

Akuressa recorded 283.5 mm, while Salawa also recorded 280.5 mm of rain.

The Red Alert for Heavy Rainfall issued by the met department remains in effect.

Very heavy showers above 150 mm are likely in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and Galle Matara Districts
