One dead and 13 injured in an accident in Galgamuwa

COLOMBO (News 1st) - One person dead and 13 injured after a van met with an accident in MeeOya, Galgamuwa.
According to the police, the van collided onto a bridge and then on to a tree.
The deceased was identified as a 69 year old resident from Embilipitiya.
7 of the injured were taken to the Anuradhapura hospital and 6 of them were taken to the Galgamuwa hospital.
The injured were pilgrims travelling to Anuradhapura.
Police said the accident took place when the driver of the van fell asleep.
