Indian High Commissioner Visits Sirasa Vesak Zone; Highlights Shared Buddhist Values

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sirasa Namami Sirasa Vesak Zone was officially declared open on Thursday (23) by the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha.

In his address, High Commissioner Jha extended greetings for a happy and prosperous Vesak to the Sri Lankan people, emphasizing the shared celebration of Vesak in both India and Sri Lanka.

"This is something that we celebrate together in India and in Sri Lanka," he said. "Buddhism in many ways defines us as what we are as Indians and Sri Lankans today. So this is something that really binds us."

High Commissioner Jha highlighted the importance of Vesak as a force for strengthening and deepening the bonds between India and Sri Lanka.
