Remembering a Legend: Commemorative Stamp Issued for the Late Mr. R. Rajamahendran

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka on Sunday (19) honored the memory of the late Mr. R. Rajamahendran, the visionary leader who founded the Gammadda Movement, Sri Lanka's most impactful rural development program.

On what would have been his 81st birthday, a special commemorative stamp and cover were issued in a ceremony held at Stein Studios in Ratmalana.

The ceremony served as a poignant tribute to Mr. Rajamahendran's remarkable life and the lasting impact of the Gammadda Movement.

The stamp, designed by renowned Sri Lankan artist Sanath Rohana Wickramasinghe, was officially presented to Mr. Sashi Rajamahendran.

The commemorative stamp, now valid for postage throughout Sri Lanka, serves as a lasting tribute to Mr. Rajamahendran's exceptional service and his invaluable contributions that continue to touch the lives of countless Sri Lankans.
