Court order prohibits rallies in Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Maligakanda Magistrate's Court has issued an order prohibiting rallies that were scheduled to take place from the Technical Junction, Colombo leading to several other roads.

The order was issued against the National Trade Union Center (NTUC) leader of the JVP K.D. Lalkantha, Mahinda Jayasinghe and 6 other trade union leaders.

Accordingly, the order was issued considering facts presented by the Maradana Police.

According to the order issued by the Maligakanda Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrama, the rallies can be held at the PD Sirisena Grounds, the grounds close to the ibbanwala junction or any other suitable location.
