Urgent Politburo Meeting Held By The SLFP

COLOMBO (News1st); A Politburo meeting of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is currently being held at the Sri Lanka Foundation.

The meeting was called by the senior vice president of the party, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.

It is stated that this meeting is called to decide the future activities of the party due to the injunction order issued by the court preventing the party president Maithripala Sirisena from holding office.

However, the Acting General Secretary of the party, Sarathi Dushmantha informed in a letter yesterday that Nimal Siripala de Silva does not have the legal authority to call such a meeting today.

However, our reporters inform that Nimal Siripala de Silva, former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Mahinda Amaraweera, Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Duminda Dissanayake are participating in the relevant political board meeting.
