The Excise Department is tightening its grip on illegal liquor collection in response to the recent VAT increase, vowing strict enforcement of relevant laws. 

Excise Commissioner and Spokesperson Kapila Kumarasinghe confirmed that officials have received directives to step up targeted raids.
