Former Army Chief General Balagalla passes away

COLOMBO (News 1st); General (Rtd) L.P Balagalla RWP RSP VSV USP ndc IG, the 16th Commander of the Army passed away Tuesday morning (26 Oct) after a brief illness at the Colombo Army Hospital Narahenpita.
General (Rtd) L.P Balagalla of the Sri Lanka Artillery was the 16th Commander of the Army during 2000 - 2004. Funeral arrangements are to be notified later.
His remains are now lying at No. 21/12 Samanala Road, Kotelawala, Kaduwela.
