Elephant dies by electrocution in Puttalam

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  It was reported that a tusker was killed after being electrocuted in Neelabamma, Puttalam.

The ranger of the Karuwalagaswewa Wildlife Range Office, D Ramasinghe says that the elephant died after colliding onto a power line.

The Tusker was 25-years of age at the time of it's passing and it was roughly 8.5 feet tall with it;s tusks being 2 feet long.

No arrests were made in connection with the killing of the tusker, as of yet.
