More showers expected today (13)

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology predicted showers or thundershowers over most parts of the island during the afternoon or night.

The Department predicted fairly heavy showers above 75 mm in the Uva, Central and Eastern provinces.

The Met. Department also predicted a few showers in the coastal areas of the western and southern provinces during the morning.

The landslide warning issued to several divisional secretariats in seven districts was also extended on Thursday (12) evening.

The landslide warning is in effect in several divisional secretariats in the Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kegalle, Ratnapura and Badulla districts.
