COLOMBO (News 1st); A team has been appointed to investigate the explosion that took place at the SLAF firing range in Kandakuliya, Kalpitiya. 

Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa said two experts were deployed to the incident site on Tuesday (26).

One Air Force soldier was killed and another sustained injuries in the explosion.

The deceased was a 28-year-old resident of Polgahawela.

The Air Force Commander said the cause of the explosion has not been determined yet.

Investigations are underway regarding the incident.
