COLOMBO (News 1st) – Chairman of Sathosa, Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena says that 292 employees have been placed on compulsory leave starting from the 30th of September.
He noted that this group of employees, who were not part of the original establishment of the Lanka Sathosa Company, which replaced the Cooperative Wholesale Corporation in 2005, has been placed on compulsory leave.
The chairman explained that this group includes drivers and assistants.
Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena further added that each affected person has been provided with compensation of 2.5 million rupees, and measures have been taken for their removal.
