Stuart MacGill, a former star cricketer, has been charged with participating in a massive cocaine supply operation.
On Tuesday, police detained the 52-year-old, who has played 44 Test matches for Australia.
MacGill was allegedly abducted and beaten in 2021, prompting their investigation.
The former spinner has yet to enter a plea but has always denied any involvement in narcotics trafficking.
In April 2021, MacGill made international headlines after alleging, he was harassed and pushed into a car in the Sydney neighborhood of Cremorne.
He was allegedly brought to a distant area on the outskirts of the city, where he claims he was attacked and threatened at gunpoint, before being transferred to a third place and freed.
