Mother of murder suspect shot in Ambalantota

COLOMBO (News 1st); A woman was injured following a shooting that took place inside a bus in Kokgalle, Ambalantota on Thursday (7) afternoon.

Police Spokesperson & Attorney-at-Law, SSP Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that two men had stopped the bus she was aboard, and then opened fire at her, before fleeing the scene.

The woman was identified as a 47-year-old and was admitted to the Ambalantota Hospital for treatment.

Sri Lanka Police said that she is the mother of a suspect linked to the assassination of a man in Kokgalle, recently.
