Sri Lanka: Inflation drops to 4% in August

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's overall rate of inflation as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) for August was 4.0%, compared to 6.3% in July 2023, said the Department of Census and Statistics.

It added that food inflation decreased to -4.8% in August 2023 from -1.4% in July 2023.

The non-food group decreased to 8.7% in August 2023, from 10.5% in July 2023.
