COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Agriculture, Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed officials to transfer the veterinarians from the areas of less necessity to areas of high necessity, according to a request made to the Ministry of Agriculture by the Association of Veterinarians.
The Association of Veterinarians pointed out that by assigning veterinarians to areas where there is less necessity, it has become difficult to provide their services to areas where there is higher importance.
The association has further pointed out that certain areas of the Western Province does not need the services of government veterinarians.
Accordingly, the Minister of Agriculture has instructed the Ministry Secretary to direct the veterinarians to areas where their services are vital.
