Six-year-old dies in Valaichchenai accident

COLOMBO (News 1st); A six-year-old child has died in a road accident in Valaichchenai.

Sri Lanka Police said the accident was reported when a water bowser crashed on to a motorcycle, while reversing.

Area residents who arrived at the scene had assaulted the driver and his assistant and set fire to the water bowser, belonging to a construction company in the area.

They had also damaged several vehicles of the construction company.

The fire was doused by Sri Lanka Police and area residents.

Sri Lanka Police said the driver of the bowser and his assistant have been arrested.
