Sri Lanka to go ahead with restructuring railways

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Cabinet of Ministers have given the green light to appoint a committee of experts to put forward proposals for the restructuring of Sri Lanka Railways.

The Department of Government Information noted that the government had recognized that the Department of Sri Lanka Railways required to be restructured in order to maintain the service at a precise level by minimizing issues.

Accordingly, he Cabinet of Ministers granted approval for the appointment of a committee comprised of relevant subject experts to submit appropriate proposals in regard to restructure the Department under a more appropriate structure
