Man dies after being shot in Thalawathugoda

COLOMBO(News 1st): A person who was seriously injured in a shooting at a house in Welipara, Thalawathugoda Battaramulla has died.

Sri Lanka police say two people on a motorcycle had shot at him last night and fled the area.

The shooting had been carried out by a pistol.

The deceased has been identified as a 41-year-old resident of Weli Para, Thalawathugoda. 

The injured was admitted to the Sri Jayawardenapura General Hospital last night.

The suspects have not been revealed as of yet.

Sri Lanka police say that further investigations are underway.
