Suspect killed in Police STF shootout

COLOMBO (News 1st) - One person was killed in a shootout by the Police Special Task Force on Wednesday (19) night.

The Police had opened fire at the suspect, who attempted to shoot a Police officer during an operation to arrest him.

The deceased suspect, 36, was a resident of Minuwangoda.

He was a wanted suspect over several shooting incidents reported in Colombo.

In the meantime, an STF officer who was injured in the incident is currently receiving treatment at the Gampaha Hospital.
