Water supply for more than 90,000 disconnected over unsettled bill payments

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The water supply to 90,617 customers was disconnected as they failed to settle their overdue payments, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said.

The arrears were accounted for the first five months of 2023.

Legal action will be taken against 5,277 customers for not settling their overdue payments, The Water Board added.

2,949,305 new water connections were provided during this period as well.
