News 1st wins Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union 'Asiavision Award' for frontline reporting on protests in Colombo

Colombo (News 1st) - News 1st won the prestigious Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union 'Asiavision Award' for frontline reporting on protests in Colombo. 

The award, presented during the ABU Global News Forum in Malaysia on Monday (10), was for the compelling vision from the frontline of protests in Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo throughout 2022.

News 1st is the news arm of MTV Channel (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka's largest independent media organisation.

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU or APBU), formed in 1964, is a non-profit, professional association of broadcasting organisations. It currently has over 287 members in 57 countries and regions, reaching a potential audience of about 3 billion people.
