Trade Union leaders yet to declare assets & liabilities

The Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment highlights that trade union leaders are yet to declare their assets and liabilities, although they were previously notified to submit their statements.

According to the Declaration of Assets and Liabilities Law, trade union leaders of government and semi-government institutions must submit their statements to the Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment.

However, Secretary to the Ministry R. P. Wimalaweera said that no trade union leader has submitted those statements so far.

The Secretary said that action will be taken against this in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
