38-year-old injured in Kilinochchi shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st); One person has sustained injuries in a shooting carried out by two motorcycle gunmen in Udaya Nagar, Kilinochchi.

Police said the gunmen opened fire at a group travelling in a car early on Wednesday (28) morning.

A 38-year-old resident of Udaya Nagar who was driving the car sustained injuries in the shooting.

He is receiving treatment at the Kilinochchi Hospital.

Police said the shooting followed a dispute involving him and two others in Kanagapuram, Kilinochchi.

Kilinochchi Police said investigations are underway to arrest the suspects.
