COLOMBO (News 1st); The time given to submit appeals to families who were not included in the Aswasuma program to receive the Samurdhi benefit has been extended till the 10th of July.
Attending the Seethawaka coordination meeting Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said no person with a low income or suffering from various diseases will be allowed to lose the benefit.
The Prime Minister invited all parties to work together to include low income families in the program.
A special hotline number was introduced to obtain information for appeals of people who have lost welfare benefits under the Aswasuma welfare program.
State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said information can be obtained from the hotline 1924.
He said the hotline number will be open between 8am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
