Compensation for X-Press Pearl disaster estimated at 6.4 billion US dollars

COLOMBO (News 1st); Compensation for the damage caused due to the X-Press Pearl maritime disaster is 6.4 billion US dollars. 

The Attorney General's Department said the revelation was made following the report in January. 

The Attorney General's Department said a team will leave for Singapore next month for the legal proceedings related to the damage caused by the X-Press Pearl maritime disaster.

They are due to hold discussions with the shipping company and other representatives in Singapore.
