COLOMBO (News 1st) – The National Election Commission has announced the number of Parliamentarians that can be elected from each district of the island, according to the number of voters.

According to the number of registered voters in the year 2023, the highest number of Parliamentarians will be elected from the Colombo district, and the number of MPs is 19.

The least number of Parliamentarians will be elected from the  Trincomalee district and according to the commission, 4 Parliament seats have been allocated.

The Election Commission says that 18 MPs will be elected from the Gampaha District, 10 MPs from the Kalutara District, 12 MPs from the Kandy District and 15 MPs from Kurunegala District, can be elected to the Parliament.
